What I meant by lucrative was that not necessarily are they talented per se, but that they are incredibly marketable and provide a large source of revenue for Korean entertainment conglomerates. While it is true that Chinese stars are on the rise, they have yet to be as marketable in Asia, despite the great opportunity in mainland China alone, perhaps due to rampant piracy or other factors. fact of the matter is, the Korean Wave has gotten its marketing done right and Chinese stars have to figure out how to replicate or improve upon the Korean tactic in order to truly "make it big" in the world entertainment scene.

i know i'm replying late since you wrote this article over a year ago but i just found this now. i really agree to what you say about Jay, he really is his own brand. however another side comment is that, i disagree with you saying South Korea has a 'lucrative booming' music industry. honestly, many of their idols are also pretty boys/girls who sing songs that sound almost the same. the industry is oversaturated with redundant tunes and boybands/girlbands. but they're getting popularity simply because the Korean Wave is hitting and they're Korean period. i think using a Jay Chou, Wang Leehom, Khalil Fong etc can nail these little boys and girls down in no time. just people nowadays don't focus on real talents.

All humans have great promise to do good and bad. It seems like he did both… to the extreme. I guess he helped modernize China's economy or something. Nevertheless, he also was involved with the deaths of about 100 million human beings, mostly Chinese. That's like 14 times more than the Holocaust. As a human being, he was an outright selfish [insert negative noun]! In his own words:

Everyone showing their body in hollywood gets to be the hottest or sexiest female at some time..I mean, even Eva MEndes was at the top of some "worlds hottest woman" list some time ago, and that is crazy, she`s utterly ugly… Then this gloryfying of some 5/10 woman last for 3-4 years, then they disappear from the starlight and never gain respect from anyone ever again.. Think about it, once Pamela Anderson had the position of Jessica, and look at her today, shit ugly.. and she always was extremely overrated, no man would disagree!!! Why do u even bother making this post? Like really, forget her dear… she`s a fake and boys masturbating to her pictures, would you ever even want a man with such bad taste? NO…. Forget them all.. It is not hard beeing cheap like Jessica, what is hard is to be a beautiful woman and gain respect on your intelligence and manage to achieve attention from men based on that, then u find the real thing. Think about it, men were created simple, most men would fuck almost everything that is female, they have a strong need to bring out their genes…We can never argue nature, it still controls us…. Their ratings of women is a scheme,we do not need this… The hype over hottest woman is this centuries biggest mistake… Hotness is basically "Who wants to undress for playboy magazine or FHM?" The loosing desperate girls aka Jessica ALba I guess…

I did not bother seeing it and when I hear people say how great it was it sickens me this plot has been way over done Dances with Wolves and many other movies with this idea people now a days have horrible sense in movies especially in the us people are suckers for nice special affects and dont have the attention span to watch an old movie with good plot if it does not have crazy affects
